East Coast Swing: Often called by other
names such as the Jitterbug and the Bop, there are many different versions
of East Coast Swing. The rock step creates a spring action between the
partners in opposition to each other on count "1" and the dance
rotates circularly. The version taught most often here is 6-count triple
rhythm East Coast Swing. It is one of the easiest to learn of all the swing
styles, and versatile enough to dance to most tempos of music. Other
versions include single-rhythm swing, double-rhythm swing, 8-count Lindy,
Lindy Hop, Flying Lindy, and Hollywood-style Lindy.
